The Work
Hasrat · 2024–2026
The colchicum — a flower that blooms after its own leaves have died — became, in this series, an image of longing (hasrat): beauty that arrives out of sequence, after the season that should have carried it.
Painted at monumental scale across multi-panel canvases, the works read less as still life than as landscape. Acrylic is laid in translucent veils and then broken by dense impasto ridges, so the surface shifts between mist and matter as the viewer moves along it.
