Decentralizing Contemporary Art & Mapping Lived Geographies
Initiated in 2007 by Jalaleddin Mashmooli and the Hajm-e Sabz Art Group, “Art in the Village” (Honar dar Roosta) brought contemporary painters, sculptors, and environmental artists into more than 75 villages across regional Iran — relocating the creative act from the white cube into the rhythm of everyday rural life.
